On the western side of Syros is Kini, a picturesque fishing

The Location
Syros is situated in the Cyclades and is the
administratative centre of this group, with a well developed economy and
cultural activity. It is just 4 hours from Piraeus by ferry-boat, 2 1/2 hours by
catamaran and 20 minutes by airplane. Syros has regular boat connections to
other islands.
Kini is located 9Km from Hermoupolis on the western side of the island. There is
a regular bus service to and from the town and other villages. Taxis are also
available on a 24hr basis.
From Kini there are daily speedboat trips to the remote northern beaches. Lotos
and Delphini are two other beaches within easy reach of Kini, both of which
offer good local food. Kini also has a sandy beach and shallow waters and is
ideal beach for families with children.
In the village there are mini-markets, a souvenir shop, motorbike and car rental
and many taverns on the sea front, offering good local delicacies.
